100 isolates of phytopathogenic bacteria of rice, Xanthomonas oryzae, were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization–time of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). The results showed the whole-cell protein spectrum profile of mass spectra of Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae,and X. oryzae pv. oryzicola shared the common spectra peak. However, X. oryzae pv.oryzae presented difference mass spectra at 2641.55, 3729.83, 4919.52, 5608.13, 9857.82, 12480.64 and 18737.92 m/z.whereas X. oryzae pv. oryzicola presented unique spectra of 6279.48 and 9179.89 m/z.

การตรวจสอบความหลากหลายของสายพันธุ์เชื้อราสาเหตุโรคไหม้ของข้าวในประเทศไทย Thai Agricultural

Rice blast disease is the major disease in rainfed lowland area of Thailand. The causal fungus of this disease is Pyricularia grisea Sacc. Variation of this fungus was higher than other rice pathogens. This report used near isogenic lines (NILs) to detect the variation, pathothype and virulence spectrum of the fungus in Thailand during 2002 - 2005. Trap blast nurseries consisted of 9 Thai local cultivars and 18 NILs were conducted at Ubon Ratchathani Rice Research Center, Khon Kaen Rice Research Center, Phrae Rice Research Center, Phitsanulok Rice Research Center, and Phatthalung Rice Research Center. Survey of bacterial leaf blight disease (BLB) on irrigated rice cropping in Phrae and Uttaradit provinces was conducted during January 2011 – December 2012, BLB was appeared in Mueang, Song, Nong Muang Khai, Sung Men, Den Chai and Long districts in Phrae province; Mueang, Tron and Phichai districts in Uttaradit province. Caused by susceptible rice cultivars and continuous cropping in combination with suitable conditions, induced the pathogen to infect. In addition, the farmers used improper chemical control resulted as the incidence increased.
